a. For assessment of surface charging, the worstcase environment listed in Table 8‑1 shall be used as input to a spacecraft charging simulation or calculation, applicable to the outer magnetosphere environment.
NOTE This is a dynamic region in terms of plasma density and temperature and for most engineering purposes, worstcase environments are the most important consideration. See Annex H.3.4 for typical plasma parameters in this region.
